Marc Marquez lands top spot ahead of the Australian GP

The #93 was quickest on Sunday morning, finishing ahead of Bagnaia and Bastianini

Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) has started Sunday in style at the Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, leaping to the top of the timesheets in Warm Up. The #93 looked strong, setting a 1:27.812 as he prepares to launch from the front row. Marc Marquez bagged a 0.047s advantage over Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), with the reigning World Champion having a confidence-boosting session as he aims to reduce a 16 point defect in the Championship. The #1 was ahead of compatriot and teammate Enea Bastianini, who completed a great morning for the Ducati Lenovo Team.

Australian GP polesitter Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) was fourth, looking to round off a brilliant weekend at Phillip Island. The #89 was 0.270s adrift from the top spot and ended the session ahead of home hero Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Further back, Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) was 21st, with the #72 handed a Long Lap penalty following a crash in the Tissot Sprint.
