Follow all the action from the opening day of 2025 at the pivotal one day Test

There’s little rest after a thrilling end to the season as riders return to action for the first time on their 2025 machines. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosts the crucial one-day test, with new faces joining the grid and World Champions changing teams, make sure you keep up to date with it all below!

Tuesday, November 19th

17:00 - The chequered flag is OUT! That is the end of a vital Barcelona Test, with so many storylines, questions and EXCITEMENT ahead of the 2025 MotoGP™ season! But as the grid heads for their final practice starts, don’t forget that there is still plenty of action to come, including an end-of-day report, highlights and initial reaction from some of our key contenders!

16:55 - FIVE MINUTES LEFT: This is it, Pecco Bagnaia heads back onto the track to join Marini and Pirro before returning to the pitlane to get some extra practice starts in the books.

16:45 - Marc Marquez has responded! Placing behind his teammate and demoting Fernandez to fifth before he entered the pitlane with a loving wave to the passionate fans and some banter with a gesture to his old team. Just five riders remain circulating as we enter the final 15 minutes of the Barcelona Test!

16:31 - CHIPPING AWAY: Alex Marquez continues to lead Quartararo and Bagnaia as Raul Fernandez now works his into an impressive P4, placing ahead of Morbidelli as we enter the final 30 minutes and the sun begins to set in Barcelona!

16:14 - Guess who’s back… Back again… Marc Marquez has returned to action after spending less than 15 minutes in the garage. Great work from the factory Ducati squad, as the #93 looks to improve on P8!

16:02 - False launch for Marc Marquez, with the #93 experiencing issues while leaving the pitlane. The bike was immediately brought back to the box by mechanics as we are left to wonder if we will see Marc Marquez complete another run!

16:00 - ONE HOUR LEFT: This is it… The final 60 minutes of the year starts now, no big changes in terms of order at the moment, but Martin is back on the circuit, which gives us the perfect opportunity to rewind back to these stunning shots from this morning!

15:45 - Inspector Rins… The #42 runs deep into Turn 1 and checks out the front of his Yamaha before taking off again and later returning to the pits. Rins is currently P5 in the standings, just 0.765s adrift from the top spot after an impressive start to 2025! Is this a sign of things to come?

15:36 - Drama now for Alex Marquez, who has crashed on the entry to Turn 7 – rider OK.

15:30 - It is back to business for the Repsol Honda Team, with Joan Mir and Marini continuing to work incredibly hard during the afternoon. Mir sits in P17 at the moment, using an all-black helmet for the Test, as Marini occupies P15 after returning to the track following his earlier crash at Turn 5. 15:21 - After a quick clean-up, the green flag is back out to resume the Barcelona Test, with Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) and Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) becoming the first riders to return to action.

15:18 – The red flag is out in Barcelona due to track conditions after Bastianini’s crash.

15:07 - Bastianini has crashed at the technical Turn 5, with his Red Bull KTM Tech3 machine looking second-hand in the gravel trap - rider OK.

15:00 - TWO-HOUR WARNING: There’s no change at the top of the standings as Alex Marquez sits in the pitlane for the moment as he remains the top dog ahead of Quartararo and Bagnaia.

14:54 - Racing? Or Testing? Martin launches down the inside of Acosta on the entry to Turn 1, with the pair continuing to run laps together this afternoon. Acosta remains in P5, with the #37 sitting as the top KTM as just over two hours remain on the clock!

14:45 - More teething problems for Martin, with the World Champ struggling to get the Aprilia’s power to the ground as wheelspins out of pitlane. Viñales was sure to get the best view of THAT start, with a front-row seat as he also returned to track!

14:23 - Martin was continuing to push and has now experienced his first crash onboard the Aprilia after getting caught out at the tricky Turn 5 – rider OK.

14:20 - MARTIN MAGIC: The newly crowned World Champion has stamped his authority to charge into the top 10! Martin is now P8 in the standings after setting a 1:39.859, could this be the start of something special?

14:14 - Also switching factories in 2025 is… Enea Bastianini, who heads to the Red Bull KTM Tech3 and is currently 19th. ‘The Beast’ has spent his entire MotoGP™ career up to this point onboard a Ducati and has had a very busy day so far – completing over 30 laps!

14:00 - We are back in full flow in Barcelona, remember, you can watch all the action LIVE using the VideoPass!

13:51 - Over at Prima Pramac Yamaha, Oliveira is continuing to string laps together, jumping to 10th as he is joined by his new teammate Miller. There is a lot for the pair and Pramac to learn as Yamaha gets ready to have four bikes on the grid for the first time since 2022!

13:39 - Quartararo’s P1 was short-lived, with Alex Marquez taking over at the top and smashing into the 1:38 bracket as his rookie teammate Aldeguer sits in 21st spot – continuing to learn the trade!

13:27 - Hello there! A familiar face inside the Honda’s box today, as Takaaki Nakagami prepares to take on the role as the HRC Development Rider in 2025. Meanwhile, there is a fresh addition to the HRC camp: Aleix Espargaro, who has completed over 25 laps with the Honda HRC Test Team and sits P10.

13:14 - CHANGE OF ORDER! Quartararo is racking up the laps and has just claimed P1 on his 39th lap of the session. The Frenchman is sure to sleep well tonight!

13:05 - Bagnaia continues to shine, reigning supreme at the top of the timesheets ahead of Alex Marquez and Morbidelli, who slots into third! Now, less than four hours remain in this crucial Barcelona Test, so make sure you keep your eyes on Live Timing to not miss a single lap!

12:57 - Some positive signs are already showing at Red Bull KTM Tech3, with Viñales placing fourth in his first session with the Austrian factory in the premier class. It's a Top Gun performance to kick off his 2025 campaign!

12:50 - While he may not have been crowned the 2024 World Champion on Sunday, Pecco Bagnaia is off to a strong start in his title comeback. The #63 is showing some immediate pace this morning as he seizes the top spot with a 1:39.398!

12:46 - Just minutes later, Fermin Aldeguer (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) has now suffered a crash at Turn 5, becoming the third rookie to crash this morning – rider OK.

12:42 - MotoGP™ rookie Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda LCR) has now crashed at Turn 10 – rider OK.

12:37 - Shark attack: Acosta is on a very fast run, improving further on his time to clock a strong 1:39.571 before Alex Marquez steals the top spot as the conditions and the action begin to heat up!

12:27 - Now, we have already talked about Marc Marquez’s new look, but make sure you check out Bagnaia’s test livery as well! You definitely aren’t going to miss the factory Ducati duo on the circuit with an eye-catching look!

12:20 - TIMING UPDATES: Acosta is now the fastest rider of the day, setting a 1:39.902 to place ahead of Alex Marquez and Quartararo as we head into the afternoon in Barcelona.

12:05 - Ogura has suffered his first crash of the morning at Turn 2 – rider OK.

Both riders, Jorge and Marco, have said they have a good feeling and sensation in terms of the information that they are receiving from the bike

Fabiano Sterlacchini on Martin and Bezzecchi's first comments at Aprilia

11:49 - It just never gets old! Martin returns to the circuit for the second time on board the Aprilia, with the newly crowned Champion having some very positive comments after the first run:  “Great! The front is incredible, the feeling is great”.

11:37 - Another new bright look for 2025 is Franco Morbidelli, who is now sitting in eighth position after his first run with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team! Some amazing-looking leathers to go along with his strong time as well!

11:26 - The first times from #93 are now on the board! Marc Marquez goes to P6 in the timesheets – a good starting point for the remainder of today!

11:23 - Amidst all the excitement, Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda LCR) has also completed his first run in the premier class. This marks a significant milestone, as all rookies have now finished their first laps!

11:17 - Make sure you have your sunglasses ready… A very bright Marc Marquez has taken to the circuit for the first time in factory Ducati red! What a DAY it is going to be - TODO AL ROJO!

11:12 - Do you think he enjoyed it? The first run has concluded for Martin with a massive smile left on the newly crowned Champions’ face!

11:09 - Now that the first hour has concluded, it is time to look back at the timing screens. Currently, Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) is the quickest rider on the circuit ahead of Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), with Quartararo remaining in P3!

11:05 - You may have seen some similar shots across the weekend from a certain someone… That’s right, Martin already has his shoulder down at Turn 5 on just his second lap!

11:02 - He is PUSHING! A small error from Martin as he gains confidence and begins to learn the brand-new Aprilia.

10:56 - Here we have it… The moment that everyone has been waiting for has arrived… Jorge Martin heads onto the circuit for the first time on board the factory Aprilia! It is the start of a busy day for Martin as he begins his title defence!

10:53 - ROOKIE WATCH: Not only do we have Ogura on track, but Fermin Aldeguer has decided to join him as he sets his first laps onboard the Gresini Racing MotoGP Ducati!

10:50 - Quick timing update! Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) has stepped into the spotlight, with the Frenchman flying on Tuesday morning – setting a 1:40.394! Currently, Quartararo is the only rider inside the 1:40 bracket, but I think we will see that time beaten very soon…

10:44 - A new look, a new plan, and a new motto as Marc Marquez goes todo al rojo in 2025! The #93 now has his bright red leathers on as he has a quick photoshoot before heading onto the circuit!

10:40 - Marini has now suffered an early crash at Turn 5 – rider OK.

10:38 - That didn’t last long… The #88 was quickly replaced by Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP™ Team) at the top of the timesheets before Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team) set the pace – clocking a 1:41.109!

10:36 - Now we are talking! Miguel Oliveira goes quickest onboard the new Prima Pramac Yamaha after setting a 1:41.716. It is an exciting day as Oliveira will be joined by Jack Miller at the Prima Pramac Yamaha squad in 2025!

10:32 - Number talk! Our eyes on the ground, Jack Appleyard has reported that Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) will return to using the #37 in 2025! A number which Acosta has previously experienced a lot of success with...

10:26 - What. A. Sight. Ai Ogura is inside the Trackhouse Racing box, with the reigning Moto2™ World Champ ready to try the Aprilia for the first time! This is from yesterday, as he had the opportunity to familiarise himself with the team!

10:21 - Next up! Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia Racing) is out on track, testing Marco Bezzecchi’s new bike as we see a #72 on an Aprilia for the first time. It may be a steady start to the morning, but excitement is already building, with not too much longer to wait before we see a couple more riders take to the circuit!

10:14 - Newly crowned World Champion Jorge Martin is inside the Aprilia Racing box for the first time! However, he is yet to unveil what number he will use in 2025 as he teases us with some gold stars on his fairing…

10:09 - One of the biggest talking points from today will be Marc Marquez as he joins Francesco Bagnaia at the Ducati Lenovo Team for the first. Check out as he paid a visit to the factory Ducati garage yesterday!

10:05 - Michele Pirro is now the first rider to head on the circuit, with the Italian setting a 1:48.449 on his first flying lap of the day!

10:01 - We are go! The track is live, but no riders have taken to the circuit just yet as conditions and temperatures continue to improve this morning.

09:53 - We are less than 10 minutes away from action getting underway, with Maverick Viñales preparing for his first ride onboard the KTM as he joins Enea Bastianini at Red Bull KTM Tech3 in 2025!
