The sixth round is calling at the Michelin® Grand Prix of France at Le Mans, one of the most passionate events on the calendar and this year, for good reason. A stunning first podium in two years for Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) last time out, who likewise seeks back-to-back poles, whereas Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) is also in good form in 2025. There’s a new Championship leader as well as a plethora of storylines and we also welcome the return of MotoE™, so it’s going to be quite the festival of track action this weekend.
FABIO QUARTARARO: hitting form at the right time
A stunning pole position followed up by a fine Sunday P2, the Frenchman is one of the riders to keep an eye on throughout the weekend as he continues his quest for a first victory at home. Previously a podium finisher and now climbing in the standings, the #20 will have the support of the fans behind him as he seeks gold on home soil.
MOTOGP™ PRESS CONFERENCE: stars talk tough ahead of track action
As usual, Thursday gets us into gear with our first content of the round; our GearUp show gets underway at 15:30 Local Time (UTC +2) whilst the Press Conference itself kicks off at 16:00. Home-hero Quartararo will be joined by Championship leader and first-time MotoGP winner last time out Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), with previous French GP victor Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) getting ready for the team’s home round off the back of P4 at Jerez.
TRACK ACTION AT LE MANS: all-important times with MotoE™ returning
Friday 9th May is the starting point as all classes take to the track with the opportunity to book their presence in Q2 with the afternoon Practice sessions pivotal; for MotoE, there’s two qualifying sessions at the end of play Friday from 17:00 – 17:30, forming the grid for Saturday’s two 8-lap races at 12:15 and 16:10. Saturday 10th May is the last chance to find form in FP2 before Qualifying sets the grid, whilst the Tissot Sprint is the first battle in the MotoGP™ class, with lights out at 15:00. Our final day is Grand Prix Sunday on the 11th May with Moto3™ up at 11:00, Moto2™ taking place from 12:15 before the French Grand Prix in MotoGP at 14:00.
An extra special French GP this year, as Le Mans celebrates 25 consecutive years on the MotoGP™ calendar. In that time, an abundance of battles that have showcased the most exciting sport on Earth at its best: 2003 with Valentino Rossi vs Sete Gibernau, 2007’s flag-to-flag drama with Chris Vermeulen taking his only win, 2017’s head-to-head between Viñales and Rossi on the last lap and last year’s three-way fight between winner Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez and 2025 teammate Francesco Bagnaia. 2025 has a lot to live up to but be sure that it’ll deliver.
