Mark Cavendish and pedal power set to take over Le Mans

Some friendly on-track competition will help warm up the weekend's action at the French GP

As MotoGP rolls into Le Mans for Round 6 of the Championship, the paddock is kicking things off with a unique twist—a special cycling event bringing together riders, team members, and some surprise guests for a bit of friendly competition. Thirteen teams will take part, including the 11 MotoGP teams, along with entries from Michelin and Dorna, each fielding two cyclists. Adding an extra layer of excitement, cycling legend Mark Cavendish will be joining the action.

The event starts at noon with a relaxed group ride, as all teams complete two laps together between 12:00 and 12:20, giving photographers and videographers plenty of chances to capture the atmosphere. Things ramp up quickly at 12:25 with a timed lap—each team setting off one minute apart in a full-gas race against the clock. The competition wraps up with a podium ceremony from 12:45 to 13:00.

The event will offer up some early competition before we get down to business for the main event at the French GP. Make sure you stay tuned to motogp.com and its social media channels for complete coverage of the weekend!
