Red Bull KTM Tech3 confirmed that Maverick Viñales wouldn’t take part in the rest of the Liqui Moly Grand Prix of Germany after the #12 crashed in MotoGP Q2.
Viñales suffered a dislocated left shoulder, put back in place, but then headed to the local hospital for more checks where a small fracture was also confirmed. On Sunday morning, the team then confirmed he will miss the Czech GP too, so he'll have this week and the summer break to get back to fuller fitness.
That compounds a run of bad luck for the team as Enea Bastianini was also out of action at the Sachsenring following a diagnosis of appendicitis before arriving in Germany. The ‘Beast’ is on the mend without surgery, so it seems likely to be back in action next time out.
However, Viñales would require surgery, travelling to Italy on Sunday morning to undergo the procedure on his left shoulder to speed up the recovery process. In a statement on Monday, the team confirmed that everything went as planned, and now the #12 and Tech3 turn their attention to his recovery period.

"Left with a fractured left shoulder following his Q2 crash at the German GP, Maverick Viñales travelled to Italy on Sunday morning to get surgery in order to speed up the recovery process. Everything went smoothly, and the Spaniard is now back home, already fully focused on his recovery. He will do everything he can to be back as soon as possible with the team, but Maverick will miss the Grand Prix of Czechia this week.
"Speedy recovery, Mav', see you soon!"
