MotoGP's biggest stars are set to descend on London's iconic Outernet on Thursday 6 August, bringing the speed, excitement and drama of the world's premier motorcycle racing championship to the heart of the capital just days before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Following the success of MotoGP's Dutch Grand Prix watch party earlier this summer, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors, Outernet will once again be transformed into a MotoGP hub, giving fans an opportunity to get closer to the sport than ever before.
For the first time, the official pre-event MotoGP press conference ahead of the British Grand Prix (7–9 August) will take place at Outernet, with riders including Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), home hero Cal Crutchlow (Castrol Honda LCR) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) all attending before they head to Silverstone for race weekend - with the full line-up to be announced.
The event is open to fans from 10am BST and those in attendance will have the opportunity to hear directly from some of MotoGP's biggest stars as part of the championship's official pre-event press conference. Bringing together leading riders from across the grid, the session will offer unique insight into the stories, rivalries and key talking points heading into one of the most anticipated race weekends of the season, giving both media and fans an exclusive chance to get closer to the sport before the action begins on track.
Beyond the rider appearances, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in MotoGP through a range of experiences throughout the day, including the chance to get up close to a race bike from each of MotoGP's five manufacturers - Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha - as well as the coveted MotoGP Tower of Champions trophy.
Set against Outernet's world-famous floor-to-ceiling digital screens, the activation forms part of MotoGP's continued effort to bring the championship beyond the racetrack and into major cities, introducing the sport to new audiences while giving existing fans unforgettable experiences.
The event will begin with media activities and the official press conference from 10:00am. From 2:00pm, the venue will open to the public, allowing fans to explore the displays, soak up the atmosphere and be part of the excitement as anticipation builds for MotoGP's return to Silverstone.
In addition, under the strapline "Do Not Blink", MotoGP has unveiled an immersive piece of content that puts fans in the heart of the electrifying pace of MotoGP. Running for exactly 1 minute and 57 seconds – the current MotoGP lap record around Silverstone – the film takes audiences on a high-speed journey through London, showcasing every corner, straight and braking zone through the eyes of the world's fastest riders. The content will be shared across MotoGP's social channels and form part of the Outernet experience throughout the event.
Kelly Brittain, Managing Director of Global Marketing, MotoGP Group, said: "The response to our first Outernet activation showed the huge appetite that exists for MotoGP in the UK. Bringing the official British Grand Prix press conference to the heart of London is another exciting step in our ambition to make the sport more accessible and bring media and fans closer to the action.
Having the likes of Marco Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta join us, alongside race bikes from all five MotoGP manufacturers, interactive experiences and the World Championship trophy, makes this a fantastic way to kick off British Grand Prix week and celebrate the sport with fans old and new."
MotoGP's return to Outernet forms part of a summer of activity in the UK as the championship continues to strengthen its presence in one of its most important markets. With the British Grand Prix taking place at Silverstone just days later, fans will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of MotoGP both in the heart of London and at the circuit itself.
