Tied at the top: MotoE™’s title fight heads to Misano

With the penultimate round upon us and the title fight level, it’s time for Round 6 of the season

The FIM MotoE™ World Championship has landed at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Round 6 of the season. It’s a venue which has had its place on the calendar since the very beginning as we gear up for the penultimate round of the season. The title fight couldn’t be any closer as Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) are level on points at the head of the standings. 50 points are at stake as we prepare for two thrilling showdowns this weekend!

Both Casadei and Baldassarri sit on 132 points apiece, with Baldassarri yet to take a win so far in the electric series. However, his relentless consistency keeps him in the fight as the pair sit 10 points ahead of compatriot Alessandro Zaccone (Aruba Cloud MotoE Team). Zaccone hasn’t stood on the podium since Round 2 at Assen, being hunted by Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE), who scored his second podium of the year last time out, and the ever-impressive Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE). You can never count out Ferrari, who will be as determined as ever to claw back the points lost following a late crash in Barcelona.

Known for delivering surprises, Misano presents Oscar Gutierrez (MSI Racing Team) with a chance to return to the podium for the first time since the season opener – and what better place than the very circuit where he celebrated a double victory in 2024. Speaking of double victories, Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) is another rider with great recent form, finally claiming his first wins of the season after a difficult start to the year due to injury. Granado sits P6 in the standings behind Spinelli and Ferrari.

There’s plenty of work to do for Andrea Mantovani (KLINT Forward Factory Team) heading into this weekend, with another DNF dropping the Italian star out of the Top 5 in the standings – 23 points adrift. Elsewhere, Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) will enter the weekend with extra motivation as he looks to move further up the order, with the Spaniard returning to the scene of his crowning moment in 2024.
