Joan Mir’s (Honda HRC Castrol) Saturday is over after his crash in Practice on Friday at Misano. The 2020 World Champion fell at Turn 9 and whilst he was declared fit, he and his team have decided to not participate any further due to limited mobility in his neck. Mir, who has enjoyed top ten results throughout 2025, aims to be return on Sunday!
Speaking during FP2 in the morning, team principal Alberto Puig stated: "He had a big crash yesterday. There is no evidence of fracture but he has a big concussion in the neck, in the cervical area. The doctor was here. This morning, he was not feeling well at all, maybe with the wound in the neck so we decided... the guy is fit, but we decided to stop for today to see if tomorrow for the race he can do because for today it was really too much. He will skip the day, he will not do the sprint race and let's see tomorrow how much he can do. He has a big big compression in this area so it's not that easy but for sure the only way to have a chance for tomorrow is to rest today.”
A social media post from the team read: “After his fall yesterday, @joanmir36official continued to experience significant discomfort and limited mobility in his neck. Mir has been declared fit. He and Honda HRC have elected to miss today's running to focus on Sunday.”
