12:40 - An official update has been issued from Aprilia Racing regarding Jorge Martin: it's the end of the 2024 World Champion's test and he'll be transferred to the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona for further assessments despite tests and examinations at the medical centre revealing no visible fractures. Get well soon, Jorge!
12:30 - Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) is on the move, putting some fast times on the board after a slow start to proceedings for the Spaniard. Acosta now sits fourth, making it three KTMs inside the top five. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) is down in P12 at the moment, but the #33 is out on circuit, so expect some quick laps soon!
12:15 - There’s been some big changes in terms of times in the last 15 minutes, with Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech3) jumping into third. Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR) has also placed himself inside the top five once more – spinning over 30 laps in the opening two hours!
12:00 - We head into the final hour of the first session. Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) remains the quickest rider on circuit – clocking over 20 laps. Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) sits second, 0.053s adrift as Fermin Aldeguer BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) rounds out the top three.
11:40 - After the brief pause in proceedings, the green flag is back out as action resumes, with the riders heading back onto the circuit.
11:27 - We've got a red flag here in Barcelona. The reason? Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) has crashed at Turn 7.
11:00 - An hour into the day and 18 riders (or in other words, everyone testing today) have ventured out for a spin, with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) topping the timesheets with a 1:38.831.
