Ogiwara crowned 2025 Champion as Ikegami wins Sepang Race 1
Ryota Ogiwara took a ninth podium of his 2025 season to be crowned Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup Champion in Race 1 at Sepang. A battle at the start with title rival Seiryu Ikegami saw both of them go head-to-head before the likes of double winner Alfonsi Daquigan, Noprutpong Bunprawes and Haruki Matsuyama joined in. In the closing stages, Ikegami pulled the pin to notch up a first win of 2025 whilst Ogiwara rode to a classy P2, guaranteeing him the title. Ikegami finished as runner-up this year, whilst Filipino star Daquigan also clinched the bronze medal with a round to spare.
Fleming takes career-first win in closest ATC finish of 2025
The final race of an epic season concluded in style as Teerin Fleming denied Ryota Ogiwara on a run to the line. Seiryu Ikegami and Ogiwara initially broke clear and traded paint before being reeled back in by the chasing pack. With just five laps to go, Ikegami crashed out from P1 at Turn 14, presenting a chance to his rivals. Onto the final lap, it was all about newly-crowned Champion Ogiwara vs rookie Fleming; into the last corner on the last lap, Ogiwara hit the front, but now, it was a drag race to the line. Pinching it back by 0.013s, Fleming took a career first win in the closest finish of the year, ahead of the #16, whilst Matsuyama was third and rookie of the year.
