BK8 Gresini Racing have confirmed that Fermin Aldeguer will miss the upcoming Sepang Test following an injury the Spaniard sustained in a recent training crash.
The 2025 Rookie of the Year suffered a fractured left femur while beginning his pre-season preparations in Valencia in early January. Subsequently, the #54 underwent successful surgery in Barcelona on the 9th of January.
It was always going to be difficult for the 2025 Indonesian GP winner to be fit to take part in the Sepang Test given the severity of the injury, and while it’s now confirmed Aldeguer won’t be in Malaysia for the all-important three-day Official Test, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to find out whether Aldeguer will be able to jump on his Ducati GP25 at the Thailand Test – the weekend before the opening Grand Prix of 2026 bursts into life in Buriram.
It means Gresini's efforts will be focused soley on Alex Marquez and the 2025 runner-up's adaptation to the latest-spec Ducati in Sepang, as we look forward to the Official Test kicking off on the 3rd of February.
