Aldeguer joins Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team from 2027

Another piece of the puzzle is confirmed as the Spanish rider gets ready to switch to fluo

It’s official: Fermín Aldeguer will wear the Fluo yellow colors of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team in 2027 and 2028. The Spanish rider, currently in his second year in MotoGP, will also become an official Ducati Corse rider and will have a factory Ducati Desmosedici GP.

Rookie of the Year in 2025 – including a maiden MotoGP win – Aldeguer is the youngest rider on the grid and one of its biggest young talents. From winning regional and national championships in Spain and then conquering European competitions, he debuted in the World Championship paddock in 2021 in MotoE. He made his mark – with that helping him to earn a move up to Moto2, as did his all-conquering campaign in European Moto2. He showed great potential in the intermediate class with some stunning wins, becoming one of the most highly regarded and sought-after riders.

He made his debut in MotoGP in 2025, where he secured three podiums and his first win in MotoGP, in Indonesia, becoming the second youngest rider of all time to win in MotoGP. Rookie of the Year and in the top ten overall, it was a stunning debut. Currently, Aldeguer is eleventh in standings, with one podium finish in Barcelona, despite having missed three races due to injury.

In 2027 he will ride with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team as the new era of MotoGP begins.

Fermín Aldeguer: “I’m very happy to be taking this step in my MotoGP career with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. Signing with Valentino’s team is incredible. He has always been one of my idols and a role model for me. I think having him within the team will help me improve as a rider thanks to his valuable advice. The VR46 Racing Team is Ducati Factory Supported Team, an extremely professional outfit, and I’m very happy to be racing with them. With the new regulations coming in for 2027, my goal will be to adapt to the new tyres, but also to the new bike. Having the factory Ducati will be a huge help in terms of development throughout the season. It will be a year in which we will aim to be consistent, avoid mistakes and spend as much time as possible on the bike to gather information. I’m sure we’ll work extremely well with the whole team and the Ducati engineers. We’ll be able to do a great job and aim to consistently finish inside the top five. I can’t finish without thanking the entire Gresini Racing team and Nadia, who have helped me grow and brought me to where I am today.”

Alessio Salucci, Team Director: “We are happy to confirm that Fermín will ride with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team in 2027. He is a young rider who showed a huge talent right from his MotoGP debut, becoming one of the main contenders. We look forward to welcome him in the team, where he will ride a Factory Desmosedici GP as he will be an official Ducati Corse rider. We will give him our maximum support possible to reach our goals. Once again, I want to thank Ducati for the full support both human and technical, and thanks to all our partners for supporting us in this incredible project.”

Gigi Dall’Igna, Direttore Generale Ducati Corse: “We are very happy to announce the renewal of our agreement with Fermín for the next two seasons. Since his arrival in MotoGP, he has shown extraordinary talent, a great ability to learn and a determination that impressed us immediately. He is still a very young rider, but his potential is enormous and we are convinced that he has plenty of room to grow. For this reason, we have decided to invest further in him, reaffirming our confidence in a project that is clearly focused on the future. We believe that the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team represents the ideal environment for him to continue his development. In recent years, the Team has shown that it knows how to get the best out of young talents and that it is a truly competitive outfit in the Championship. We are certain that Fermín will have everything he needs here to continue growing and achieve important milestones. At Ducati, we strongly believe in his potential.”

Pablo Nieto, Team Manager: “We are very proud to welcome Fermín Aldeguer to the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. He is a rider who proved to be a very talented rider. Despite he is very young, he proved to be very mature and capable to compete in MotoGP, which is a very challenging championship. It’s not easy at all to win in the top class, and he did it in his debut year. We trust him a lot because we know he has the potential to fight for anything he wants. As a Team, we will be ready to support him in every aspect and make his path as easy as possible.”
