Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) posted an apology on social media on Sunday morning, but the #72 also headed out trackside to find the marshal to apologise in person.
The meeting was shown on the broadcast for the Warm Up session in Brno as the Italian spoke at some length with the marshal, made his apologies, gave him some gifts and the two hugged a number of times.
Watch the moment below:
Bezzecchi, who was clearly emotional, will sit out the rest of Sunday after being suspended from the Czech GP. He was also in the box during Warm Up, however, after making his apologies out on track with the marshal.
Here’s the #72’s statement on social media in full:
"I would like to apologize to the entire MotoGP community for my behavior toward the trackside marshal. I'm also sorry because I know how much effort and sacrifice marshals make to ensure our safety. This behavior shouldn't happen and there is no justification for it. I apologize to everyone, Aprilia Racing and all my fans.”
