After his Q2 crash, Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) returned to Italy on Saturday to undergo surgery to fix his broken collarbone - ruled out of the remainder of the German GP.
On Sunday, July 12, Aprilia Racing confirmed that the surgery, performed at the University Hospital of Sassuolo, was a success and that the #72 is on the mend. The team say they hope to see Bezzecchi return to racing at the next GP at Silverstone but that they’ll give a more definitive prognosis soon as his recovery continues.
Then on Saturday, July 18, Aprilia Racing provided an additional update on Bezzecchi, confirming that the Italian rider underwent a routine procedure to clean the wound on his left knee. Bezzecchi has already returned home and continues his rehabilitation ahead of the British GP.
Speedy recovery, Marco!
