Siegert wraps up the title on Saturday
Robin Siegert (Kiefer Racing Team), take a bow! Siegert is your 2026 Moto4 Northern Cup Champion following a ninth consecutive victory of the season on Saturday. The #11 entered the weekend with a 68-point advantage, and with Anina Urlass (MASS SPORTS Racing by JRP Motorsport) down in P9, Siegert took the crown. Elsewhere on the podium, Roman Durdis (FS12 Racing Team) clinched second, whilst Swan Emprin (SWAN96#) took third on a historic day for the Northern Cup!
Thias Wenzel (Team NSA - ADAC Niedersachsen/Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.) launched from pole position on Saturday, being challenged by Viktor Cech (ZC RACING s.r.o.) at Turn 1. Cech took the lead, setting early pace at the legendary Oschersleben circuit. Casper Pennings (Casper4.racing) followed in second, with Wenzel for company as title leader Siegert sat in fourth spot. It didn’t take long for Pennings and Wenzel to strike either, ramping up the pace in Race 1.
Further back, there was plenty of attention on Urlass, who sat outside the top 10 in the opening laps after starting from P17. Back at the front, it was business as usual for Siegert, who returned to P1 at the start of Lap 3. A few moments later, Louis Wolff (Kiefer Racing Team) became our first crasher of Saturday, soon followed by Douwe Douma (Douma Racing) and Miro Masson (Belgian Motorcycle Academy).
Siegert stretched the margin at the front, sitting comfortably at the start of the final lap, whilst Durdis headed the fierce battle for second. Cech remained in the mix before a technical issue forced the #2 to stop – dropping to P15. There was late drama for Pennings and Wenzel as both riders crashed out on Lap 16. Siegert charged to victory, becoming the 2026 Moto4 Northern Cup Champion and etching his name into the history books.
Siegert held a 3.179s advantage at the flag, beating Durdis and Emprin, who clinched a late spot on the podium. Jaylen Korporaal (Jaylen Korporaal Racing) was fourth, unable to claim silverware after finishing ahead of Adam Vyskocil (AV79 Racing Team). Anton Eilersen (ARE Racing) grabbed sixth, with Danny Hinkelmann (Hinkelmann DH14 Racing) in seventh. Ruben Nijland (RN LF Racing Team) was ahead of Urlass, with the #21 finishing P9 after some brake issues, whilst Tudor Dedea (TUDOR.RACING) rounded out the top 10.
Further back, there were later retirements from Smilla Göttlich (Team Freudenberg - PALIGO Racing), Tommy Junior Deschouwer (Belgian Motorcycle Academy), William Ruby (TeamWilliam) and Levi Flier (RN LF Racing) – all in search of redemption on Sunday.
Siegert pips Durdis at the line
Although the title is already decided, it didn’t slow down Siegert on Sunday, winning his 10th consecutive Moto4 Northern Cup race. The German rider took victory by a mere 0.008s in Race 2, whilst Roman Durdis returned to the podium in second and Adam Vyskocil impressed for third. Oschersleben delivered incredible racing, adding further excitement towards the season finale next month.
Siegert launched from pole position on Sunday, claiming a safe start, whilst Viktor Cech had another impressive launch – leading at Turn 1. After briefly dropping to third, Siegert got to work, overtaking Ruben Nijland in the final sector and beginning to set sights on P1 once more. The lead changed hands on Lap 2, bringing added confidence for the German star before Cech hit back.
There was disappointment further back, with William Ruby crashing out before Tommy Junior Deschouwer suffered a similar fate a few moments later – the #72’s second crash of the weekend. Back at the front, Durdis was truly into the mix, entering the podium picture and looking for an opportunity to lead on Sunday.
Anticipation built during the final laps, with the Oschersleben fans being served up a stunner by their home hero. Further back, Urlass was back fighting inside the top 10, clocking the fastest lap in the process with a 1:33.817. Casper Pennings was also handed a Long Lap by the stewards, leaving the #4 with work to do. It was an all-action final lap, with Siegert briefly dropping back before a sensational run to the line.
Siegert, Durdis and Vyskocil were your podium finishers on Sunday, with 0.376s separating the leading trio. Casper Pennings missed out on the podium in fourth, leaving Cech to round out the top five finishers in Race 2. Thias Wenzel finished down in sixth, remaining close with rival Urlass in seventh as just 10 points separate the pair. In the end, Nijland crossed the line in eighth, beating Swan Emprin as Jaylen Korporaal rounded out the top 10 on a deciding weekend.
