Castrol Honda LCR have announced that Johann Zarco will return to racing at the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon, subject to passing the mandatory medical examination at the circuit. It will mark his first appearance since the Catalan GP.
Following his crash in Barcelona, the #5 was forced to miss the subsequent Grands Prix, allowing him to recover from left knee ligament injuries. Zarco and his medical team opted for a non-surgical approach, with September initially set as a targeted return. However, his recovery has improved in recent weeks, bringing forward his comeback.
In recent weeks, Zarco has increased his workload, riding both a supermoto and a Honda CBR1000RR as part of his rehabilitation. Now, after making steady progress, he’s been given the all-clear and will travel to Aragon to undergo mandatory medical assessments at the circuit. If successful, the #5 will return to competition, reuniting and continuing his work with Castrol Honda LCR on track.
Welcome back, Johann. We can’t wait to see you back in the paddock!
