It’s official: Tech3 have announced Luca Marini to join the team from 2027, with the Italian making the switch as the premier class enters a new era of technical regulations.

Marini brings extensive experience to Tech3 as a multiple MotoGP podium finisher and Moto2™ race winner. He made his debut in MotoGP in 2021 - having finished the 2020 Moto2 season as runner-up - and has since established himself as a consistent and respected competitor at the highest level.

Marini’s move to Tech3 will mark the end of three seasons he has spent with Honda HRC Castrol, having joined the factory Honda squad in 2024. His race craft and adaptability will now prove crucial for Tech3 as MotoGP enters its next era in 2027, with the introduction of new regulations and machinery.

He brings a huge amount of experience, but also the right mentality and approach for what we are building here. 2027 will be a big reset for MotoGP, so having a rider who can contribute to our progress in this new era will be important.

The 29-year-old’s arrival will also align with a new chapter for Tech3 and KTM, as the team enters the next phase of its partnership with the Austrian manufacturer from 2027.
