Harry Stafford is another product of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to make the graduation to the World Championship, and the young Brit does so with the Ongetta set-up in 2011.
Leicester-born Stafford started out on minimotos and in 2008 made the entry list for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. In 2009 a severe concussion following a crash at Jerez interrupted his season and 2010 proved much more fruitful, as Stafford collected two podiums on his way to seventh overall, in the process earning a World Championship ride for 2011.
