Matteo Bertelle is an Italian rider born in Monselice who has spent the majority of his career competing in the CIV series, with some seasons in the Spanish CEV and three years in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he clinched victory at Sachsenring in 2021. The young rider joined the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3™ team for the 2022 season, competing under the VR46 brand. He had already made a World Championship appearance as a 'wildcard' for the Bardhal team in Misano, securing a respectable eighteenth place in his debut. In 2022, after accumulating a total of 16 points in the first 10 Grand Prix, the Italian suffered a cruciate ligament rupture following a crash at Sachsenring, forcing him to miss the second half of the season. Recovered for 2023, he finished among the top seven in Thailand and Qatar and secured 18th position overall in the World Championship with the Rivacold Snipers Team. In 2024, he made further progress, continuing with the Snipers Team to secure 16th in the World Championship, which would see the Italian earn a contract with the MTA Team in 2025.
