“At the moment I don’t have the bike of my dreams, there are things to improve – but it’s not bad.”
That’s what Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) told Mundo Deportivo, as the MotoGP™ Champion launched a clothing line recently alongside the likes of social media mogul Juanpa Zurita – but talk soon returned to bikes, and the number 93 is positive after a P4 in Qatar that there is more to come:
“I think it will depend on each circuit and we have to understand that. I’m sure there will be tracks where the Honda will be better than the others. I hope they arrive soon!”
Having made a mistake with his tyre choice at Losail, the Honda rider also says the track isn’t one that suits the bike: “Qatar is a track where there’s none of our strong points and all of our weak points. There are tracks where we’ll dominate.”
Marquez also points out who he thinks will be his biggest rivals in Argentina and Austin – Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), and teammate Dani Pedrosa.
As for Jorge Lorenzo, who just moved to the Ducati Team, Marquez says he was surprised to see the Mallorcan further down the timesheets than expected – but that “he’s a great rider and I’m sure he’ll be there.”
