More than 20,000 fans experience MotoGP at London's Outernet

First of two major UK fan activations this summer showcases MotoGP's ambition to bring the sport to new audiences beyond the racetrack

MotoGP brought the excitement of the Dutch Grand Prix to the heart of London on Sunday, as more than 20,000 fans flocked to Outernet to experience the immersive content and live watch party, marking one of the championship’s largest UK activations to date.

Located in the UK’s most visited entertainment destination, Outernet was transformed into a MotoGP hub, giving existing fans and curious passers-by the opportunity to experience the speed, sound and spectacle of the world’s fastest motorcycle racing championship. From interactive fan content to the live race broadcast across Outernet’s iconic floor-to-ceiling digital screens, the event introduced thousands of potential new fans to MotoGP in an entirely new setting.

The activation forms part of MotoGP’s strategy to take the championship beyond the circuit and into major cities, creating memorable experiences that make the sport more accessible and bring fans closer to the action.

The London activation was the first of two major Outernet activations taking place this summer. The venue will host a dedicated media day and fan event on the 6th of August ahead of the British Grand Prix, further building anticipation for MotoGP’s race at Silverstone. The Silverstone team was also on-site throughout Sunday’s event, engaging with fans and promoting the UK’s biggest MotoGP weekend.

The celebrations extended beyond London, with a further 2,500 fans gathering in Aragon to watch the Dutch Grand Prix together, highlighting MotoGP’s growing ability to connect and unite fans through shared live experiences. Meanwhile, the Dutch Grand Prix once again reinforced its status as one of the championship’s flagship events. Assen welcomed more than 190,000 spectators across the race weekend, while the city’s renowned TT Festival attracted a further 160,000 visitors, creating an atmosphere that extended well beyond the circuit itself.

“Seeing more than 20,000 people come together in the centre of London to experience MotoGP is a fantastic demonstration of how we’re evolving the way fans engage with the championship,” said Kelly Brittain, Managing Director of Global Marketing. “Outernet gave us the opportunity to bring MotoGP into one of the UK’s most vibrant cultural and entertainment destinations, introducing the sport to new audiences while giving existing fans an unforgettable race-day experience. As we build towards Silverstone, activations like these are an important part of making MotoGP more visible, more accessible and more exciting than ever before.”

With another major Outernet activation planned ahead of the British Grand Prix, MotoGP continues to build momentum throughout the UK summer, bringing world-class racing to fans both at the circuit and in the heart of the city.
