Trayectoria

Alessandro Tonucci started out in minibikes in 2005 and was quick to shine, standing out amongst as many as 60 riders in the ‘Junior GP – Racing Dream’ project organised jointly by Aprilia, the FMI and Motosprint. His displays led to a graduation to the national Italian 125 championship, in which he finished runner-up in 2009, as well as a series of World Championship rides in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons, as well as a permanent seat for 2011. For the 2012 season, Tonucci remained with Team Italia FMI, alongside Romano Fenati, during which he struggled to make his mark until the race in Motegi where he took a podium. In 2013 he lined up with the Caretta Technology squad, where he also struggled slightly. A switch of team to the CIP Moto3™ outfit for 2014 also saw a switch of machinery to the Mahindra and he raced the Indian machine again in 2015 with the renamed Outox Reset Drink Team, failing to score a single point. In 2016 Tonucci made the more up to the Moto2™ World Championship with the Tasca Racing Scuderia team on Kalex machine.
