Le team Castrol Honda LCR a confirmé que Cal Crutchlow continuerait à remplacer Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR), blessé, lors des Grands Prix de République tchèque et des Pays-Bas.
L'homme aux trois victoires en Grand Prix a déjà pris le relais au Mugello et au Balaton Park, et pour sa troisième apparition de la saison 2026, il retrouvera le circuit où il a décroché son premier podium en 2012 et sa première victoire en 2016 : Brno.
Une semaine plus tard, le n°35 sera de retour en course sur le circuit TT d'Assen, où il était monté sur le podium en 2013.
