Prior to joining the World Championship, Como-born Corti was the 2005 European Superstock 600 champion, competing in the World Superstock championship for the next three years (finishing runner-up in 2009) before making his GP debut in 2010, a campaign in which he scored a best result of ninth at Misano. The Italian remained on a Suter but switched to the Italtrans set-up in 2011, claimed a best finish of fourth in Australia. Corti stayed with the Italtrans team for 2012, although was dropped by the team after Aragón. He rode as a wildcard for the Avintia Blusens team in MotoGP in the season final in Valencia, before joining Colin Edwards in the same class in the Forward Racing team for 2013.
