Malaysian Khairul Idham Pawi onto the world stage in 2015 when he took sixth overall in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship, but his journey to the world stage began long before. Pawi cut his teeth racing underbone scooters in Malaysia in the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship before winning the Asia Dream Cup in 2014. During his debut season in Spain in 2015 Pawi achieved three consecutive podiums to end the year in sixth, and his stunning efforts saw the then 17 year old and Honda Team Asia move to the World Championship in 2016. Taking a first win in stunning style in the wet in Argentina, Pawi took another wet win in Germany in similar conditions. Having a tougher time in the dry, the Malaysian moved up to Moto2™ in 2017 to partner Takaaki Nakagami at Idemitsu Honda Team Asia and had a tough first season, with Pawi also having a tough 2018. His luck didn't change in 2019 when a crash at Jerez saw him badly injure his hand, which would keep him out of the remainder of the year. He stays with Petronas Sprinta Racing for 2020, but steps back to the Moto3™ World Championship where he hopes to change his fortunes.
