Dalla Porta takes charge in FP3

The Leopard Racing rider is quickest heading into qualifying

Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) was the man to beat in the cooler conditions, setting his quickest lap time late in the session, meaning he’s second quickest on the combined Free Practice timesheets heading into qualifying. The man he knocked off the top in FP3 was Jorge Martin (Del Conca Gresini Moto3), the Spaniard also going quickly at the end of the session, finishing just 0.074 seconds off Dalla Porta’s time. The Qatar GP winner topped the combined times, with his FP2 time of 2:17.423 still the quickest of the weekend.

Martin’s teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio went well again, he ended the morning session in third – 0.143 off the top and improving his lap time from yesterday afternoon. Enea Bastianini (Leopard Racing) also continued to prove he has the pace to run at the front this weekend, improving his lap time in FP3 by nearly four tenths of a second compared to FP2 – the Italian fourth on the combined times. Rounding out the top five was Championship leader Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0), ending the session 0.258 off top spot, as the Spaniard failed to improve on his FP2 time.

With the gap at the top so tight, the battle for pole – as always – will be spectacular. Tune in at 12:35 local time (GMT -5).
