FP4: Iannone quickest ahead of chasing Ducatis

The Italian continues to prove he’s right in the hunt this weekend, with Lorenzo and Dovizioso close behind

Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) looks right on the money at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley, topping the timesheets in FP4 as the premier class grid give an indication as to what their race pace will be. Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) was 0.084 behind the Italian, the Spaniard continues to have a great weekend ahead of qualifying, with teammate Andrea Dovizioso third fastest.

FP4 saw six crashes in total, with Karel Abraham (Team Angel Nieto) and the Monster Yamaha Tech 3s of Hafizh Syahrin and Johann Zarco falling in quick succession, with Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) then crashing at Turn 11. Alex Rins (Team Ecstar Suzuki) also crashed, falling at Biondetti 1, then Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) crashed at the final corner at the end of the session – all riders ok.  

Qualifying starts at 14:10, with Q2 getting underway at 14:35.
