Miller: "Maybe I'm more like Bayliss"

The Australian spoke to Sky Sport MotoGP to discuss his Ducati move, Troy Bayliss and Casey Stoner comparisons and more

2021 Ducati Team recruit Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) recently sat down with Sky Sport MotoGP to discuss his big factory Ducati switch at the end of the season, with the Australian vowing he’s ready to be a title contender.

“I feel able to lead the team to fight for each goal, as happened in the second part of the past season,” said Miller. “I feel ready to guide the team to become a title contender, the World Championship needs it. As I said, I have gained a lot of experience in recent years and I’m ready. We will have to see when the races start, but I feel confident.”

As is to be expected, plenty of talk has been about whether Miller can replicate the success of two of his compatriots at Ducati – Casey Stoner and Troy Bayliss. “Stoner was different from Bayliss and I’m different from them. Maybe I feel more like Bayliss,” explained Miller.

“I have my own style, different from the others. Casey was a natural talent and it was great to see him ride. I would like to have their qualities, but everyone is different - even if we have this tradition in common at Ducati.”
