Pitlane Entry protocol updated in Le Mans

Race Direction issues an update requiring riders to enter the pitlane via the specified pitlane entry and route

In consensus with MotoGP teams and the FIM, MotoGP Race Direction has issued an updated protocol for pit lane entry, implemented with immediate effect – so from Le Mans on.

In all track sessions including races, the only permitted pit lane entry is by using the designated entry point and route, defined by the broken white line – following the pit lane entry road and crossing the designated pit lane entry timing point.

In all cases throughout the season, the specific information issued by Race Direction for each circuit regarding prohibited areas continues to apply – as some tracks have different layouts with extra information and different prohibited areas.

In any cases where the broken white line is not crossed or the full pit lane entry road is not used by a rider, the FIM MotoGP Stewards may penalise as appropriate for practice sessions or races.
