Dominique Aegerter rode his first full season in the World Championship in 125s class in 2007, having ridden two wildcards at the end of the 2006 campaign. Prior to that Aegerter had competed in the ADAC Junior Cup and German 125 championship. Aegerter moved to Moto2™ in 2010 in the class’ inaugural year and placed 15th overall in the Championship, improving further in his second season with the team in 2011 including a first podium. Aegerter remained with the team for 2012, where he most notably led the Indianapolis race for a number of laps, and took another podium in 2013. In 2014 he turned his consistent point scoring performances into podium results on four occasions and took his first Moto2™ win at Sachsenring. In 2015 Aegerter aimed for more podium glory with the Technomag Racing Interwetten team as he and the Swiss team made the change to Kalex machinery. A front row and podium in Mugello were a high point of 2015 although a serious crash during the Aragon race saw him unable to finish the season as he focused on returning to health. He remained with the CarXpert Racing Interwetten team in 2016 with a tough campaign at times, before a crash during training ended his season early. He moved to Kiefer Racing for 2017 and was often top Suter, and remained with the team for 2018. It was a tricky year for Kiefer Racing, with Aegerter managing to claim a best finish of P6 during the year. A new challenge with Forward Racing and MV Agusta awaited the Swiss rider in 2019, but he could only muster a solitary top 10 appearance that season. A change of scenery was needed, so the Swiss rider joined the electric class, and it immediately paid off, earning two wins and two further podiums for a P3 Cup finish. During the 2020 season he also participated in four Moto2™ Grand Prix with NTS. In 2021 he will fight for the MotoE™ title once again with Dynavolt Intact GP.
