Olivier Jacque took part in his first races in 1990 and one year later finished fourth at the Lorraine Championships, a result which persuaded him to take the step into national 125cc competition. He finished runner up in the 250cc European Championship in 1994, then was recruited by the Tech 3 team to contest the 250 World Championship, a title he lifted in 2000. Jacque stayed with Tech 3 as they entered the 500cc class in 2001 was hindered by injuries over the next two seasons. Wildcard rides with Moriwaki in 2004 led to a handful of appearances for Kawasaki in 2005, the most memorable being in China where he stunned by finishing 2nd to Valentino Rossi. He joined Kawasaki fulltime in 2007 but a series of injuries led to his retirement mid season.
