2011 Red Bull Rookies Champion Lorenzo Baldassarri made his Moto3™ World Championship debut with the Gresini team in 2013, before switching to a larger Moto2™ bike with the same team in 2014. It was a difficult year but a change to Forward Racing in 2015 saw Baldassarri take a career first podium in Australia and end the Championship in ninth. He remained with Forward Racing in 2016 and took his first win at home in Misano, staying with the team the following season. After a more difficult year, 2018 saw the Italian move to the Pons HP40 setup, where he claimed five podium finishes - including victory in Jerez. Baldassarri’s 2019 began in stunning fashion, three wins in the first four races saw him take an early command on the intermediate class crown. However, no podium after his Jerez victory meant the title slipped from his grasp. Tipped for a run at the title in 2020, Baldassarri never quite reached the heights of the previous year and could only place on the podium once, in the season opener in Qatar. 2021 sees him make the move back to Forward Racing.
