Fenati: “I want to make the second row at worst”

Fenati: “I want to make the second row at worst”

A strong start to Octo British Grand Prix for Romano Fenati who led the Moto3™ riders on the opening day of practice.

Throughout his Moto3™ career Fenati has always done well on Sunday but struggled somewhat in practice and Qualifying. In Brno the SKY Racing Team VR46 rider received a three-place grid penalty for his antics in Qualifying, practice in Silverstone showed the Italian has provisionally learnt the error of his ways and has altered his approach to a weekend. On track conditions were quite cool for both Moto3™ sessions, never going above 30ºC. A big change from the Brno where temperatures were at record highs for the Czech track.

Fenati already has his eyes set on Saturday and is aiming for a top six position on the grid. Only twice in 2015 has the KTM rider started from the front two rows with a best of third at home in Italy. The layout and conditions of Silverstone seem to suit the KTM more than the Honda, if little changes on Sunday no doubt Fenati will be once again challenging for the podium and a potential second win of the season.

Romano Fenati: “Today is a good day for us because the start is really good. The bike from this morning improved a little and for tomorrow we need to make another small step as all the other riders maybe make a big step! For sure this track is in a perfect condition for the KTM maybe. I hope tomorrow we can have a good Qualifying for the race. Yeah, I hope to improve the Qualifying. I want to make the second row at worst, I’ll try!”
