Marquez Blog: First basketball, now it’s our turn

My brother Alex and I have spent these last few days training hard, riding our motorbikes and our bikes…

In his latest official blog for Marc Marquez looks ahead to the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon:

Hi everybody,

Not long until we see each other in Alcañiz! My brother Alex and I have spent these last few days training hard, riding our motorbikes and our bikes… Of course, we’ve had some time to enjoy some rest after the San Marino GP, but most of all we’ve spent a lot of our time together training.

Another thing we’ve been able to do is watch other sports. For instance, I like to follow football whenever I can. Of course, I didn’t miss any of Barça’s games, the Champions League, or La Liga.

However, I also enjoy basketball. I imagine all you Spanish sport fans out there enjoyed it just as much this past week! You have to congratulate the Spanish basketball team because they went through some tough moments, but they showed us what they’re made of.

The team members fought hard to overcome every adversity and their hard work has paid off. Congratulations, champions! And a special congrats to Pau Gasol for being the Tournament MVP…I had the honour of meeting Pau in person and considerate it a great privilege. He is an example to follow not only because of his talent, but also for what he does off the court. You’re making history!

Now it’s our turn to take centre stage at Motorland. We’ll get to the race by car, in fact in a couple of the family’s cars. The Honda Civic and the CRV are always ready to go for these kinds of trips!

Now we just have to see if the weather will cooperate. It seems like there has been good weather there the last few days and we hope that it remains until the weekend and that it’s not like last year.

I’ve been in contact with the fan club…but I don’t know what they’re scheming! But knowing them, I’m sure it’ll be something special. For your information, they will be in the 3B stand once again this year.

I’m anxious to get to Motorland, it’s great for my racing style and I feel at home since the race takes place only about an hour away from my home town, Cervera. The atmosphere at the GP is always incredible.

Do you like to cook? If so, what is your “star” dish? Question from Michelle.

Hi Michelle,

I’m not a big fan of cooking, probably because I don’t practice enough and I have always had my mum at home to cook for me. She’s a great cook and my favourite dish has always been arròs caldós, a rice dish. If I tried to make it, I don’t think it’d turn out quite the same, hahaha.

We’ll see each other there!
