Luck for Lüthi as the rain falls in Spain

The Swiss rider sets the pace in a wet FP1

The first session for the Moto2™ class at the Aragón GP has ended with considerable rainfall as riders tried their best to tackle the track in mixed conditions. Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) took P1 with the fastest laps throughout most of the first Free Practice session, leading Mattias Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) and Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) who finished up P2 and P3 respectively.

The top five positions were rounded out by Dynavolt Intact GP’s second rider Marcel Schrotter in P4, and Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in fifth.

As the heavens opened with 2 minutes of FP1 remaining, there was only one rider caught out, and Steven Odendaal (NTS) went down at the entry into Turn 1 – rider ok.
