On Sunday morning before racing gets underway in the PTT Thailand Grand Prix, Race Direction sent a reminder to teams about change of position penalties. It recaps an update to Article 1.21.3 of the FIM Grand Prix regulations made in September, with riders now given a maximum of three laps to comply with a change of position penalty. Previously, the time slot allowed was five laps – but it’s now gone down to three.
If a rider fails to comply within three laps, they’ll be given a ride through.
