Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya polesitter Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) has topped morning Warm Up, a last ditch 1:39.918 was enough to oust Championship leader Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) by 0.047 ahead of the race.

The leading duo will line up alongside each other on the grid for this afternoon’s race in Barcelona, but it looks set to be more than just Quartararo and Marquez who will be going for the win. Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) was third in Warm Up to finish 0.255 off Quartararo’s pace, the Spaniard leads two of his compatriots despite crashing: Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins.
The latter pair both have sights set on a podium in Barcelona, with Viñales initially qualifying on the front row before being handed a three-place grid penalty for infringing Quartararo and Danilo Petrucci (Mission Winnow Ducati) in Q2. Rins will launch from P8.
