While many of us are quarantined for at least 14 days, boredom is bound to set in at some point. For the riders who are meant to be out either training or competing, being stuck inside is something out of the ordinary as they become starved of adrenaline. So, what’s a great way to pass the time and get that pulse pumping? Yep, you guessed it, the famous toilet roll 10 touch challenge!
The viral challenge is making its way across social media and some of the MotoGP™ riders weren’t going to pass up on giving it a go. Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) was one of the first to show us his skills set don’t just sit on track as he nominated several friends, including World Champion trials rider Toni Bou. The latter, alongside Fabio Di Giannantonio (Beta Tools Speed Up), nominated Marc and Alex Marquez, with the reigning Moto2™ World Champion taking things up a notch.
At this point, this begs another question: why do the challenge in normal clothes when you can dress up as a minion? Thankfully, Alex Marquez thought the same thing as the double World Champion minion displayed excellent skill and composure to complete the challenge, with Marc Marquez next up. No minion costume for the eight-time World Champion, but nevertheless a grand effort.
Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Fabio Quartararo also faced up to the challenge, with the Frenchman challenging other sporting stars such as F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo and Juventus and Argentina international Paulo Dybala. More nominations for MotoGP™ riders came in as Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) narrowly avoided a crash a stair corner. The Spaniard then nominated compatriots Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing), Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Moto2™’s Marcos Ramirez (American Racing Team).
In the coming hours and days, there’s bound to be more toilet roll activity. Are you up to the challenge while you #StayAtHome?
