APRILIA RECORDS: the stats do the talking

2026 has been dreamland for the Noale factory so far but just how impressive have they been?

Remember when Marco Bezzecchi moved onto RS-GP machinery last year? An all-new line-up with Jorge Martin, it would have been hard to predict that after all the Spaniard’s trials and tribulations that fast forward 12 months, they’d be 1-2 in the Championship standings and on an unbeaten Grand Prix run of five GPs. Well, that’s what’s happening. A remarkable turnaround and rise to form, we take a look at all their numbers in detail.

158 – The number of points Aprilia Racing have scored in 2026 after just three rounds, just three fewer than Ducati Lenovo Team at the same point in 2025 and the second-highest since the Sprint format was introduced in 2023.

121 – ‘Simply the Bez’ has lived up to his name, not just winning the last 5 GPs but leading every single lap too.

39/34 – In second at COTA, Martin – his first back-to-back Grand Prix podiums since 2024 at Sepang and in Barcelona’s Solidarity Grand Prix. This was Aprilia’s 39th podium place in MotoGP and their 34th since they returned to the Championship in 2015 – all 34 coming from 2021 onwards!

11 – Bezzecchi’s win was their 11th in MotoGP, keeping them eighth in the all-time Grand Prix win tallies – next stop, Norton on 21!

7 – Aprilia became the seventh manufacturer to set a win streak of five in MotoGP history, along with: Honda, Ducati, MV Agusta, Suzuki, Gilera and Yamaha – all of whom have managed six in a row… no pressure!

5 – High-five! The last five GPs have all seen Aprilia lead the way at the chequered flag with all victories achieved by Bez!

5 – Keeping with the five theme and COTA marked the fifth consecutive GP where at least one Aprilia has been able to qualify on the front row – even if the #72 had to come from P4 on Sunday due to a two-place grid penalty. The win from fourth was also the first victory to come off the front row since Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP Team) at Phillip Island.

4 – Aprilia riders have set the last four fastest laps on Sundays too, starting with Fernandez in Valencia last season before Bezzecchi clinched the opening two of 2026, whilst Ai Ogura (Trackhouse MotoGP Team) notched up his first fastest lap in MotoGP.

3 – Martin’s back-to-back podiums mean that with the exception of Ogura, who was in his rookie year in 2025, all Aprilia riders have been on consecutive Grand Prix podiums!

1-2 – There’s quite a lot of 1-2 history for Aprilia, starting with the US GP result itself, their fourth 1-2 in Grand Prix after Catalonia 2023, Valencia 2025 and 2026’s Brazilian GP. Then, it’s also the first time that in two consecutive Grands Prix, they claim a 1-2 finish but the bigger stat is that they remain 1-2 in the Championship, something they started in Brazil.

1 – Ogura’s fastest lap at COTA on Sunday was the first-ever for a Japanese rider in MotoGP on a non-Japanese bike, whilst it was Japan’s first in 22 years – Makoto Tamada had the last honour from Motegi, 2004.

So, what next for Aprilia? They continue to rip up the trees and re-write records and after a mega opening three rounds, all eyes will be on whether or not anyone can stop them. Next stop, Jerez – Ducati unbeaten there since 2021 and Aprilia with just 1 podium coming from Aleix Espargaro in 2022. 2026’s Aprilia is a whole new story though; will they continue to charge ahead?
