Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) took a commanding win on Sunday, defeating Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Bezzecchi’s win at the Portuguese GP allowed the Italian to carry on MotoGP’s remarkable run, with six winners emerging from as many Grands Prix. It’s an incredible record, one which hasn’t been achieved since 2020!
It continues on a streak which began back at the San Marino GP, where Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) secured what would turn out to be his final win of the season. We soon entered the flyaway leg of the year, where Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) bounced back – striking gold on Saturday and Sunday – as Marc Marquez became World Champion.
This set up an unforgettable Indonesian GP, with rookie sensation Fermin Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) becoming a MotoGP winner. Another first-time winner was on the cards at Phillip Island, with Raul Fernandez earning his and Trackhouse MotoGP Team’s maiden win in MotoGP. Alex Marquez would return to the top step in Malaysia before Bezzecchi's brilliant triumph last time out, the latter's second Sunday success of the season.
We now head to Valencia for the season finale. Will we see a seventh different winner in a row emerge?
