BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP have confirmed that Alex Marquez will have a GP26 next season – a factory spec bike the same as the factory Ducati Lenovo Team pairing of Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia. With 16 Grands Prix completed in 2025 and 21 podiums – 11 in the Tissot Sprint and 10 in Grands Prix, including two wins – it’s been an impressive year from the #73 in 2025, and he’s racing last year’s GP24.
Currently, there are three factory spec Ducatis on the grid – the Ducati Lenovo Team duo, plus the ‘GP25’ of Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team). Next season it looks set to increase to four, with Alex Marquez’s factory bike seemingly an addition to the ranks rather than a replacement.
“It’s an honour to be racing on a factory bike with Team Gresini,” says Alex Marquez. “The team has been working impeccably for a few seasons now, and I believe this is a reward for everyone — for myself and the whole team. This is another step forward towards our dreams and doing even better in 2026. I’d like to thank Nadia, the team, and of course Gigi and Ducati, who have made me feel important at every moment.”
“This is news of great importance for Gresini Racing. I would like to thank Ducati and Eng. Dall’Igna for the trust placed in Alex and in our team,” underlines Team Owner Nadia Padovani. “The results achieved this year, and in previous seasons, have led us to reach this great milestone. We are happy that Alex, starting next year, will ride with a factory bike. As a team, we are ready to take another step toward excellence. 2025 will be an unforgettable year, and we already like 2026 a lot.”
“Alex Marquez’s season has been impressive,” says Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager, Ducati Corse. “After a series of evaluations, Ducati Corse has decided to further increase our support so that the rider and his working group can continue to grow. Álex is making the most of the Desmosedici GP’s potential, and we are convinced that, with new updates, next year we will continue to improve together. This will be an added value for the whole Ducati family.”
