Marc Marquez completes 39 laps before lunch break

Halfway through Day 1 in Misano, the eight-time World Champion has been testing new parts for HRC as he enjoys a successful return to action

We’re halfway through Day 1 of the Official MotoGP™ Misano Test and so far it’s Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) who sits fastest with a 1:31.531, 0.026s ahead of teammate Maverick Viñales, as we see Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) return to riding his RC213V.

The eight-time World Champion has completed 39 laps before lunch at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, and after initially heading out on a standard RC213V – similar to the one he last rode at the Italian GP – it didn’t take long for the number 93 to start testing new parts for HRC. It’s a very busy box down at Repsol Honda, which is fantastic news for HRC, Marc Marquez and MotoGP™ in general.

Aprilia Racing Test Rider Lorenzo Savadori has two bikes to test on Day 1, while Noale factory teammate Viñales has been one the busiest rider so far – the San Marino GP podium finisher has clocked an impressive 51 laps, just a few shy of Darryn Binder (WithU RNF Yamaha MotoGP™ Team).

It’s a big couple of days for Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ with the factory expected to roll out a 2023 prototype. World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo has three bikes at his disposal, and the Frenchman has completed 43 laps so far to sit P3 on the timesheets.
