Dixon dominant in the wet as Canet leads on combined times

The Brit started Saturday of his home Grand Prix with superfluous wet-weather form whilst Friday's times decided the order ahead of Qualifying

Saturday's Silverstone action for the Moto2™ grid started with a rain-sodden Practice 3 session. This did mean the top 14 were already decided ahead of Q2, but it also gave us a chance to see who's on form in the wet.

Despite a late-session crash, it was Jake Dixon (Tensite GASGAS Aspar Team) who topped the timesheets with a 2:22.099 ahead of qualifying at his home round at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix. The Brit had the Elf MarcVDS Racing Team duo trailing behind as Championship leader Tony Arbolino got closest to Dixon 0.415s shy of the Aspar rider. The Italian will be forced to start Qualifying from Q1 however, as he finishes in 15th on combined times after Friday's dry running.

Sam Lowes joined his teammate at the top, as well as making it two Brits inside the top 3. Like Dixon, Lowes also has a Q2 spot secured following his Friday lap times. It was a good session for the Aspar team in general as the 2022 Moto3™ World Champion Izan Guevara (Tensite GASGAS Aspar Team) enjoyed his best session so far in Moto2™, snatching P4 in the wet conditions ahead of his fellow rookie and 2022 title rival Sergio Garcia (Pons Wegwow Los40) in P5.

Make sure to tune in for Moto2™ Qualifying which is at 13:45 local time (GMT +1)!
