Sasaki snatches pole from local rider Kelso

The Japanese rider will start the Australian Grand Prix from pole position ahead of Kelso and Nepa

Qualifying at the MotoGP™ Guru by Gryfyn Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix went the way of Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) Husqvarna rider put down a 1:36.539 to top the Q2 session. The Japanese rider will have his hands full with an eager Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing PruestelGP) who made it onto the front row with his home crowd cheering him on. Rounding out the front row was Stefano Nepa (Angeluss MTA Team) who ended the session +0.216s away from pole position in 3rd.

Next up was the Brazilian Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets - MSI) who missed out on the front row by 0.105s as he's set to head row two ahead of Matteo Bertelle (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP). Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) fronts row three in 7th place as he's joined by David Alonso (GASGAS Aspar Team) - who hit the deck in Q2 - and Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Racing) with Vicente Perez (BOE Motorsports) rounding out the top 10.

The Moto3™ riders' attention now turns to the race on Sunday, make sure not to miss any of the action as it commences at 10:00 local time (GMT +11).
