MotoGP™ makes it 11 debutant victors since 2020 as France reach 99

Delve into some of the very best post-race stats from the Australian GP

A truly outstanding Australian GP crowned a first time MotoGP™ winner on Saturday, with the action keeping us on the edge of our seats throughout. It all culminated in a spectacular last lap battle for victory, handing victory to Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing). Now that we've had time to draw breath after a Phillip Island thriller, let's delve into some of the best post-race stats!

120 – Johann Zarco took his maiden MotoGP™ win and became the 120th different premier class winner in what was his 120th premier class race.

99 – Zarco took his maiden MotoGP™ win at the Australian GP, which also is the 99th GP win for France.

42 – With Zarco winning the race ahead of Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), Ducati is on a streak of 42 MotoGP™ Grand Prix races in a row with at least one rider on the podium.

33 – This is Ducati’s 33rd podium so far this season, which is a new record for the Bologna factory in a single MotoGP™ season.

13 – The win for Zarco is the 13th for Ducati so far this season, which is also the Bologna factory’s record for a single MotoGP™ season. Zarco is also the 13th winner in the premier class with Ducati.

11 – Zarco became the 11th different maiden winner in the premier class since the opening race of 2020 along with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Miguel Oliveira (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP™ Team), Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team), Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), Francesco Bagnaia, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team), Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) and Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team).

11 – Bagnaia finished P2 for his 11th podium so far this season, which is his new personal record in a single MotoGP™ season - including last year when he took the crown.

6 – This is the sixth podium comprising Ducati riders so far this season along with Argentina, France, Italy, Germany, and San Marino.

5 – Zarco became the fifth French rider to win in the premier class along with Quartararo (11 wins), Régis Laconi (1), Christian Sarron (1) and Pierre Monneret (1). This is Zarco’s 20th podium in the class, but he gave the “honour” of being the rider with most premier class podiums without a win back to Colin Edwards, who has 12.

5 – Zarco has now scored five podiums so far this year and 2023 is now his best season in terms of podiums since he stepped up to MotoGP™ in 2017.

1 – Di Giannantonio finished third for his first podium since debuted in MotoGP™ last year.

0.477 – With 0.477s between winner Zarco and Di Giannantonio in P3, this is the second-closest podium finish of 2023 after last time out in Mandalika (0.433).
