Moto3™ hit the track to start a fantastic weekend at the Silverstone for the Monster Energy British Grand Prix. It was perfect conditions on track leading to a solid start to the weekend for David Alonso (CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team), who improved his time throughout the session – destroying the lap record in the process. The Colombian set a magnificent 2:09.600 on his final lap in Free Practice, finishing 0.383s clear of Ivan Ortola (MT Helmets – MSI). The #48 looked strong on Friday morning, setting 13 laps throughout and finishing in front of Tatsuki Suzuki, who looked comfortable onboard his Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP machine in third.

Fourth place on Friday morning went the way of rookie Angel Piqueras (Leopard Racing), putting together an impressive performance to start the British GP. Behind the Spaniard and rounding out the top five was Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets – MSI), who was 0.647s adrift from Alonso’s incredible benchmark. Meanwhile, Scott Ogden (Fibre Tec Honda - MLav Racing) had a great start to his home Grand Prix in seventh position.
