After a sensational Saturday at Silverstone, it was Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team), who took Tissot Sprint glory. Bastianini was closely followed by Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) as the Championship took another twist after Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) crashed in the Sprint. Ahead of Sunday, the British GP continues to look as unpredictable as ever, with the chance for a different rider to win for the 10th consecutive year.
1. Winner last year at Silverstone, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) is set to become the rider with the third most Grand Prix starts after Valentino Rossi (432) and Andrea Dovizioso (346).
2. Following Jorge Lorenzo (2018), Marc Marquez (2019), Pol Espargaro (2021), Johann Zarco (2022) and Marco Bezzecchi (2023), Espargaro becomes the sixth different polesitter over the last six GPs at Silverstone.
3. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) crashed out in the Sprint, ending a sequence of three successive Sprint podiums, and will be aiming to take his fifth Grand Prix win in a row, something no one has done since Marc Marquez in 2019, from Misano to Australia.
4. Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) took his first Sprint win – which is also his first Sprint podium – and will now aim to take his sixth MotoGP™ win and his first since Malaysia last year, when he also qualified third.
5. Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) finished P2 in the Sprint for his eighth Sprint podium so far this year and reduced the gap to one point with Bagnaia in the Championship. On Sunday, he will be aiming to take his eighth MotoGP™ win.
6. There have been nine different winners in the last nine MotoGP™ races at Silverstone: Lorenzo (2013), Marc Marquez (2014), Rossi (2015), Viñales (2016), Dovizioso (2017), Rins (2019), Quartararo (2021), Bagnaia (2022), Espargaro (2023). Another winner would become the 10th winner in the last 10 races here.
7. A first at Silverstone? KTM/GASGAS riders could take the factory’s first win at Silverstone. So far, their best result here is P3 in 2023.
8. Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) will now be aiming to win for the first time since Emilia-Romagna 2021 (1015 days ago). It would be his first Grand Prix win with Ducati and Gresini, and his second Grand Prix win at this track.
9. Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) will aim to take his 11th MotoGP™ GP win and his second at the track in the class after 2016 when he took his maiden MotoGP™ win (then with Suzuki).
10. After passing through Q1, rookie Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) qualified ninth, which is his second-worst qualifying result so far this year. He finished P5 in the Sprint following contact with Binder in the early stages. Aged 20 years and 71 days old on Sunday, he can aim to become the second-youngest premier class winner after Marc Marquez (20 years and 63 days old in Austin in 2013).
Will we see a 10th different winner in as many years on Sunday? Make sure you tune in at 13:00 local time (UTC +1) to find out!
