The 2021 Aragon Grand Prix saw the Italian and the Spaniard lock horns for the first time

Three years ago we witnessed the birth of a MotoGP™ rivalry that would grab headlines around the world for the foreseeable future. The 2021 Aragon Grand Prix, of course, saw the Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing) feud spark into life with a memorable encounter that culminated in the Italian clinching a debut MotoGP™ victory.

After going toe-to-toe with Andrea Dovizioso for so many years on last lap thrillers, Marquez had to put up with another determined Italian in red. And the eight-time World Champion was quickly reminded of the similarities.

Bagnaia was quick to thank his boss post-race for the words of wisdom the night before the race, with the nine-time World Champion revealing he had to use some special powers to make sure Bagnaia won the race.
