The MotoGP™ paddock returns to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Round 14 of the season, this time for the Gran Premio Pramac dell’Emilia-Romagna. It is the first part of a thrilling triple-header, where further Championship drama is expected to unfold. There are also still plenty of MotoGP™ Fantasy prizes up for grabs, so let’s have a look at how things stand!
What happened last time out?
It was an exhilarating San Marino Grand Prix last time out, which resulted in Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) securing back-to-back victories after a brave performance on Sunday. The #93 took 53 Fantasy points from the weekend after a top five finish in the Sprint and the win on Sunday. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) claimed a second-place finish in the Sprint and on Sunday with the Italian taking, 39 Fantasy points for anyone who had the #1 in their team.
Meanwhile, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) returned to the podium, securing further solid points in Misano. However, there would be Championship drama on Sunday for Sprint winner Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), who finished 15th after a gamble to wet tyres did not pay off – slashing his Championship advantage to seven points.
Marc Marquez’ win allowed the Gresini Racing MotoGP™ squad to leave the weekend as the top team with an impressive points tally. Ducati was also the top constructor after a strong round for the Bologna bullets.
Who should I add to my team?
In terms of riders, an obvious pick would be Marc Marquez, the rider who has won the last two Grand Prix and is a rider on fire, aiming to roll his momentum into this weekend. The eight-time World Champion will take a large chunk of your budget at $4.7M but looks to be a safe option for solid Fantasy points. Bagnaia is also a strong option, with the Italian aiming to return to the top step this weekend after securing a crucial podium at the San Marino GP – costing $5.4M.
You also cannot look past Martin ($5M), who took victory at this circuit at the 2023 San Marino GP and won the Sprint last time out. The #89 has shown a strong pace and has been consistent overall in 2024. Bastianini ($4.8M) and Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team’s Marco Bezzecchi ($2.6M) could also be good options, with both riders previously claiming a podium in the past at this circuit.
If you are looking to go down the non-Ducati route, you must consider adding Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) to your team. The #33 will set you back just $3.3M and will be a great silver or even a gold rider. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) could be seen as a bargain at $2.5M, with the rookie adding to his experience on a MotoGP™ bike in Misano last time out.
Over at the Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) will cost just $1.5M, with the Frenchman making further steps last time out. Quartararo claimed a top 10 finish in the Sprint and on Sunday, allowing the #20 to claim 17 Fantasy points in the process. However, if you want to go down the Noale route, Aprilia Racing’s Maverick Viñales ($1.8M) may be your pick, with the #12 completing a confidence-boosting Misano Test - looking to build on his results from the San Marino GP.
It is difficult to look past Ducati ($5.1M) as your MotoGP™ Fantasy constructor, with the Italian brand locking out the podium last time out. However, KTM might be the better option as the Austrian brand aims to return to the top step - costing $2.9M.
