Moto2™ returned to action for a special weekend at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona, with Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) clinching the top spot on the opening day of action. The #44 delivered an impressive performance, setting a 1:42.426 and gaining a 0.231s advantage over Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team), who powered to second position after posting a late flying lap. The #96 continued to look strong, ending Friday ahead of Manuel Gonzalez (Gresini Moto2™), who will aim to battle for a second victory in 2024.

Times dropped throughout Free Practice on Friday morning, with Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) claiming the top spot to add to his confidence ahead of Practice 1. When the action resumed in the afternoon, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI) stole top honours, setting an early 1:43.191. The session heated up as Jorge Navarro (OnlyFans American Racing Team) posted a competitive time before Canet grabbed the top spot.
Navarro held onto fourth, with the #9 continuing to show incredible consistency while subbing in as a replacement rider for the injured Joe Roberts. Navarro was ahead of Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo), with the Italian finishing proceedings ahead of newly crowned Champion Ogura. The #79 brought his Triumph-powered MT Helmets – MSI machine to sixth and finished Friday in front of Fermin Aldeguer (Sync SpeedUp), with the #54 aiming to return to the top spot after beating Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team) in Practice 1.

Further back, Filip Salac (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and Sync SpeedUp’s Alonso Lopez rounded out the top 10, with Zonta van den Goorbergh (RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP) in P11. Meanwhile, Albert Arenas (Gresini Moto2™), Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and MT Helmets – MSI’s Sergio Garcia claimed the final spots inside the top 14, with some key names left with work to do on Saturday morning.
The intermediate class returns for further action at 09:25 local time (UTC +1), beginning an important session ahead of qualifying at 13:35 (UTC +1) as we continue to go #RacingForValencia.
